Hello,
I just plugged my new 5.1 sound (Samsung ht-d350k) to my notebook (Sony Vaio VPCF115FM) optical out port.
Things were going well, except for the fact it was playing like a 2.1 sound system.
I use Pinnacle internal TV Tuner card and was using TVTime viewer.
Hi folks
On F11 a USB sound card got recognized immediately and began to be used.
On F12 the same sound card is listed but still all the 'dings' and 'dangs' of the OS as also all browser ( youtube ) sounds are heard from the PC speakers.
Hello, I just installed ubuntu 9.10 last night, and I am trying to get sound to work, but it isn't working :(.
Hello community, not sure if this is the right place to post this but, I'm having a hard time trying to get sound out of my external USB sound card. It does not show up in Preferences>Sound or in aplay -l. However, it does appear in lsusb.
The interface itself is called AKAI EIE Pro and it's USB 2. I don't need it to do anything but playback.
Any help is highly appreciated!

Greetings forum.
As the title alludes to, I am using Linux Lite 1.0.4 and I am having problems getting the sound to work properly.
My sound card is a PCI - "Creative Labs, Sound Blaster Live 5.1" surround sound card, and the problem is, I cannot get sound from anything other than the front speakers.
I have tried adjusting the options in the sound preferences - Menu> Multimedia>
Hi,
I have a sound-blaster Extigy sound card with a 5.1 sound system.
For info, the extigy is an external USB sound-card, AC3 and Dolby Digital compatible and coming with an IR remote control. One of the very interesting feature of this card is the ability to work even without the computer.
I have been working on this issue for several days now and still cannot get my sound card to work. Basically, I have a Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D sound card installed in a PCI slot and I am unable to play any sound through it. Note that I have the on board sound disabled in the BIOS. Also, it is my understanding that this sound card is supported as of kernel 3.5.
