No sound comes out of my right speaker. I tried turning the volume all the way up in Alsa mixer for the relevant channels (I can't remember exactly which ones but I followed the steps in the installation guide). This happens with both my laptop speakers and my external speakers (they connect to the headphone jack but they aren't really headphones).
So I've had my N7 about a week and its almost perfect. The only real problem I'm having is sound. Whenever I'm playing music locally or streaming from Google play, ill get ungodly popping and skips in music playback. It only happens when I'm multitasking, so I know its not a general hardware fault.
I'm currently using paranoid android, latest version.
First issue that I'm having is the speakers constantly make a popping sound if I'm playing some form of media but I don't have my speakers hooked up to my laptop. I thought it might have been the power saver settings but when I run the command line prompt to bring up the file to change it from "10" to "0".
I installed Ubunut 12.04 64 bit, and it seems I can not adjust volume separately for headphones and laptop speakers.
If I plug my headphones in, I can hear sound through my headphones AND my speakers.
Hi all,
When i turn my laptop (HP pavilion dv 1000) on, there is a stump (onomatopoeia) sound and the same thing happens if i start playing music.
It seems to occur when the speakers turn on... It seems to be a hardware pb but when i was running windows it didn't do that. So i would think that it would be linked to the way i have ubuntu set up.
What do you think?
Thanks
F
Hi,
I don't know if i am posting this in the right section,
But here's the problem:
when i am watching a flash vid i hear poping/cracking sound from my headset speakers,
but only when i see the vid, say i go to a other tab, then i don't have the popping sound anymore,
but this is very annoying, also the popping/cracking sound stops when a drop a random window over the vid,
ps: i am using ubuntu
I used one of the help guides for establishing hdmi sound here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2142636
and also installed pulseaudio volume control. I can see the hdmi sound which would come out of my tv speakers yet isn't. In PulseAudio, the sound bar pulses which shows sound activity. The picture is great. The sound is no longer sent out of the built in speakers. My TV is not muted.
I've just upgraded from 12.04 to 12.10, and I can no longer play music (or sound, I guess) quietly.
I used to be able to have the volume all the way down, one step up from the very bottom, and sound would come from the speakers or headphones at an appropriately low level. But now it doesn't come out at all.
See the attached pic to see how high it has to be before sound comes out.
Hi folks
On F11 a USB sound card got recognized immediately and began to be used.
On F12 the same sound card is listed but still all the 'dings' and 'dangs' of the OS as also all browser ( youtube ) sounds are heard from the PC speakers.
