I'm trying to solve a problem with sound and USB ports in Fedora 17.
After many months of trouble free operation the sound and front panel USB ports have stopped working on my Fedora 17 desktop system.
Sound does not work in any application (Mplayer, Kaffine, Firefox, etc).
Simple sound configuration, analog audio out to two speakers.
Hello pals.
I'm going back to fedora, cause printing problems on arch. But, at now, I've sound problems on fedora :(:fp:
Quote:
05:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Audigy (rev 03)
But, with volume levels on max, no sound.
I made a new Fedora 17 (64 bit) install on my clevo p180HM laptop and there is no sound!: It worked on Fedora 16 (64 bit) with the newest available kernel 3.4.x but on Fedora 17 no chance.

[root@localhost ~]# lspci|grep audio
[root@localhost ~]#
I have no sound devices. Makes sense that I have no audio, no wonder KDE complains at every login that the devices aren't working.
I recently purchased a new system and chose to install Fedora 11. I absolutely love the speed and functionality of Fedora however, I have run into a slight problem. I can only get sound from one application at a time. If I start listening to an .mp3 and then launch youtube, I get no audio from youtube, however if i start youtube first then the .mp3, youtube sound plays but .mp3 doesnt.
Hi,
I have no sound on my new fedora 12 installation. When I try to unmute this happens:
Code:
[conor@localhost ~]$ alsaunmute
/sbin/alsactl: init:1727: No soundcards found...
How can I install the correct drivers, my sound card is:
Code:
00:08.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio (rev b1)
Thanks

The sound on my Fedora 17 install works perfectly trough the speakers of my laptop but when a connect a pair of headphones there is no sound what so ever. I've tried fidling with the sound settings but so far nothing has worked. This was not a problem on my previous Fedora 17 Alpha install.
Hi,
My microphone used to work fine when I installed Fedora about six months ago. I stopped using it for a while, and when I tried using it again, it didn't work.
If I open sound settings and go to Input, I have
Choose A Device For Sound Input:
Internal Audio Analog Stereo.
I have no dropdown for Capture, and the input level at 100% shows nothing.
I have realtek ALC861 and running fedora 17 LXDE 32bit. Are there some tips or tricks to improve sound quality? Because comparing the same audio source, in windows with realtek manager, the sound was better. As i see fedora LXDE is using pulseaudio. Should i set up pulseaudio as audio output in VLC player? thx.
