Apt-cache policy rhythmbox output is:
rhythmbox:
Installed: 2.98-0.1~webupd8~precise2
Candidate: 2.98-0.1~webupd8~precise2
But when I start Rhythmbox, it still gives me 2.96.
Could it be that I have two separate installations of this app? I have no idea.
I'm running precise.
Hello,
I was having an issue with the pulseaudio-equalizer an rhythmbox, sound gets really crackly but so far only with rhythmbox, youtube sounds just fine. I tried installing the rhythmbox equalizer thinking I can just use this for now as a work around, I don't mind the extra few clicks to disable one equalizer for a short time then enable it later.
I stopped using rhythmbox years ago because I thought banshee was better, now I would say as far as the 2 players go rhythmbox seems to be much less buggy, (no this isn't a which player is better thread so lets not go there) anyway I use bash scripts to control banshee after login, to get it to start in the background and play music automatically, I want to switch to rhythmbox but can't seem to fi
today when i started Rhythmbox and played a song then there is sound in it.
A few questions guys, would really be glad if you could help.
How do I know what the latest version of Rhythmbox is (is there a rhythmbox official repository?)? And say I dont have the latest version of Ubuntu (I'm using 10.04, personally my favourite ubuntu release yet, especially since i'm not a big fan of unity), can I upgrade Rhythmbox to the leatest version? If so how?
Thanks in advance.
I happen to be using xubuntu but I dont think the desktop-environment is applicable in this context.
I noticed that some gnome-based applications such as rhythmbox cannot fetch any information from the internet if the corporate network is using a proxy.
In this particular scenario - the cover-art search facility of rhythmbox cannot find coverart sought from the various providers on the internet.
Hi.
I noticed that Rhythmbox is extremely unstable. While playing podcasts (added from iTunes) the program would randomly crash.
The only line in the log gile realted to the crash is:
Code:
[1228988.679505] in libtotem-plparser.so.17.0.3[7f4c5b80f000+1d000]
Are there any known workarounds?
Previous I have never used rhythmbox by default because it seemed to be lacking in features to me. Just my personal opinion.
With rhythmbox back in 12.04 will ubuntu give it some attention to give it some usability one thing that was majorly missing on my last use of rhythmbox was an equalizer which is the most basic of requirements for an audio player let alone a preamp.
When trying to add the Webupd8 Rhythmbox PPA to my system through
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8/rhythmbox
the command seems to work fine. Then i apt-get update and upgrade, and it shows no upgrade to be found. When i run
sudo add-apt-repository -r ppa:webupd8/rhythmbox
right afterward, it tells me it does not exist in any sources.list files.
Does anybody know what is going on?
P.S.
