I read through few posts about people being able to claim their warranty even after unlocking their bootloader , now these people had almost the same problem ..there screen wouldn't display anything or their phone wouldn't boot up at all.
So I'm probably gonna buy this phone tomorrow because my htc one x fell and has a broken screen now. I have no warranty so I need a phone badly. My question is can a AT&T branded phone have a bad esn or imei I think its called stopping me from activating it on my account?
I got burned by LG. I bought the Optimus 4X HD. Was a great phone, so I thought. 3 weeks in to owning the phone the screen turned half black half white. I contacted LG to have it replaced under warranty. TO MY SURPRISE, I was told by LG USA they couldn't help me because the phone was not meant to be sold in the USA, so I need to contact LG Global.
I Double checked with HTC ITALY and If I send my phone rooted etc then I will not pass through warranty.. soo I need to restore my DHD back to "stock" with root / radio / eng and all stuff back to original settings (and normal rom again).
From what I gathered my steps would be:
1. flash using the HTC program the original rom from their website
2.
Have a question..
I received IMEI error ("0" IMEI) on my Galaxy S3. Tried to recover.. with no luck
I'm looking to buy broken one on ebay, so maybe I can try to clone it to my phone... and save some money.
Before I'm buying... I have a big concern.. I saw an option in Galaxy Tool to make a full backup/image of phone...
Hello, I got a unmodify unlock tmobile samsung galaxy s2 and is currently using it on att. I just got a email and text message from att saying they have detected it as a smart phone. Even though it only get 3g data, how did they know it is a smart phone? Do they have access to look in to my google play account or my amazon account app account to see the phone model?
Hi, that's my first thread on XDA!
Anyway:
I have successfully rooted my phone, a while afterwards, my wifi stopped working (that's not the problem here, so don't help me with that please)
So I sent it to where a bought it from (a private shop, not international)
And they checked it and everything, they knew it was rooted, they said the spesific Wi-Fi problem isn't covered in warranty, but the
Guys have anyone of you tried to ask for warranty after you have rooted your one x?
Cause in some cases like samsung they also say that when you root your phone your warranty is void but in fact eventhough you rooted it and bricked it and asked for warranty they will give you the warranty?? Is it the same with htc? :)

My wife was having problems with her S2 (running stock Gingerbread), so I upgraded it using Kies. The update failed during the download process, so I needed to run the recovery option, but the outcome was the phone was still upgraded to ICS. It's mostly fine, but the phone is now freezing once or twice a day, requiring a cold start to revive it.
