Hi! I know, that configuration of my PC is too old, but now I don`t to be going exchange it.
I want to use the open source Radeon driver for Ubuntu, but currently I'm using fglrx.
So, I went ahead and purged fglrx using sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx* and when I rebooted and ran sudo lshw -c video, I still see driver=fglrx_pci. I've followed the instructions here.
I'm not sure why I can't completely purge fglrx, is anyone else experiencing this?
So I tried installing the latest catalyst and had problems as it would not DKMS with /var/lib/dkms/fglrx/9.012/build/firegl_public.c and found 2 patches which fixed the problem.
Hi Everybody,
Please HELP!
I have a problem with installation of ATI radeon driver.
After installation i'm running "sax2 -r -m 0=fglrx", the configuration failed and at the end of /var/log/SaX.log I have:
(II) LoadModule: "fglrx"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules//drivers/fglrx_drv.so

We need some more information to help you:It seems like the fglrx-module cannot be found. The wiki article describes many ways of installing/using fglrx, which one did you choose?
