Having installed sendmail and openwebmail on RHEL workstation 6.3, I can send email through webmail(cgi-bin/openwebmail/openwebmail.pl), but failed to interact with sendmail server in Perl script as following:
my $smtpserver = 'mail.server.com';
my $smtpport = 25;
my $smtpuser = 'test';
my $smtppassword = 'test';
my $smtp = Net::SMTP->new($smtpserver, Port=>$smtpport, Time
I have a Windows 2008 server that is running an SMTP server. The server has a public IP Address. I have 2 other windows servers, not in the same network, that are used for hosting client applications. We have a need to make sure that the emails sent through the client application to the SMTP server look like they originate from the original domains.
Hi...I'm a system admin and I have a task at hand and I need some suggestions regarding that.
I have 2 mail servers running Debian OS. One for receiving mails (e.g. 192.168.1.10) and another for sending emails as mail gateway (e.g. 192.168.1.20). They run postfix and dovecot. The pop server runs iredmail.
I have a back-end system which only supports sending email to an *UN*authenticated SMTP server, however, ultimately it needs to go via an authenticated SMTP server on the public internet.
My idea was to send it internally to a local SMTP server unauthenticated, and then have that middleman server relay to an authenticated public SMTP server (such as gmail) with the relevant credentials.
