I use virtualbox to use ubuntu (12.04). I want to customize the theme but I didn't find in the preferences how to that. So I webt to ubuntu-art, and I downloaded a .sh file (metacity theme), but how do I install this file ? is it a package ?
I added some folders to background tab in Appearance Preferences. When I open Appearance Preferences, it takes too long to load all thumbnails , so it hangs. I tried to use remove button but it only deletes one image at a time. How can I set it to show images only from background folder?
I'm trying to use the Wonton soup theme in Kdenlive so I've downloaded the .colors file from http://kde-look.org. Then I go to System tools => preferences => KDE system configuration => Application Appearance => and browse to the file that I have downloaded.
Then I am able to launch Kdenlive and to select the Wonton Soup theme.
I want to use a custom theme for Nautilus and for some other applications but i want to keep the generic theme for the rest of the applications and system. I know it can be done in gtk2. For example the theme I'm using uses a dark theme for the terminal and the image viewer and the rest of application still looks clear.
My Ubuntu 12.04 was going good on PC. I am not an expert on Ubuntu. But the next day when i opened up my PC I found that the appearance of my ubuntu has been changed to something like basic or flat. I checked the theme setting but it was the default Ambiance theme.
I would like to modify the Appearance Styles, etc., like I used to be able to do with MS Windows. The pre-defined ones in Appearance either have overly-thick window bars, garish colours, and/or make some window toolbars all black. I would like to customise all this, including fonts and sizes.
I have already tried to do this through Appearance.
