i would like to setup two transparent proxy server that use Ubuntu Server and Squid as transparent proxy. My idea is to synchronize the cache between Proxy 1 and proxy 2. so both Proxy server will have same cache inside them. I wish to use Rsync that is an open source utility that provides fast incremental file transfer.
I have loadbalancer server and edges. I am trying to configure reverse proxy in order to hide the backend servers PL1,2,3. PL 1,2,3 are not located in same subnet. They are located in different locations.
PL1
Lb1 -> PL2
PL3
I tried to configure Apache reverse proxy but it is not sending request to PL1,2,3.
The man page to yum.conf describes several proxy related variables:
proxy URL to the proxy server that yum should use.
proxy_username username to use for proxy
proxy_password password for this proxy
But how to specify a SOCKS proxy?
I assume that the above is just for normal HTTP proxies ...
hi everyone
i have a server in a network. but our proxy server is ISA. how can i configure fedora for work ing with proxy. i need to install softwares by wget and yum in command prompt. thanks in advance
Hello everyone, I first want to thank you all that reply to my post in advance.
I have a squid proxy installed with an isc-dhcp-server as well and it is working awesome. I have put a whitelist to work with the proxy and it is doing its job but I am having an issue with connecting the proxy to email clients.
I set socks5 proxy system> preferences> network middleman to connect through wifi to a router with Firewall may have to unlock something? ping is normal, but if you want to connect to the site by the browser it shows the error:
Code:
Unable to connect to the proxy server.
A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between your computer and other servers.
I am running perfectly running reverse proxy server for multiple domains, with 1 TB of RAM, 160 TB of HDD, fast as hell, running at this moment 364 websites, where pass thru data is around 1-5 GB per second.
In Ubuntu, I am going to start Squid and Squish for proxy setup, but have problems in squid to make every workstation use proxy.
Since new version of U1 (4.0), it's been claimed that it can read OS proxy settings. But in my case it didn't.
I have my network settings set to "Auto Proxy Discovery". And browsers, mail and other apps are working fine.
I had to configure proxy settings for Dropbox manually (it has such configuration). But how can I configure U1 proxy manually? If it for some reason ignores Auto Proxy Settings.
