Hi,I have ADSL Modem Huawei SmartAX MT882 which has Ethernet as well as USB cable to connect internet. For so long I have been using this Modem using Ethernet cable.
I have such network layout: internet comes true fiber optics to modem. From modem LAN cable goes to router. Since that router wifi signal is weak LAN cable goes to another router from which I connect true wifi.
TL;DR - Modem > router > router with wifi > me.
Browser connects just fine.

I can boot and run Mint Debian 64 liveUSB..My only problem I have so far is that I dont know how to set up my UBS ADSL modem..It can only connect via USB..

I read there is a program called USB ADSL Modem Manager for Ubuntu..but I was not able to find it officially on the internet.

Here's a really strange situation. I subscribed to AT&T DSl a year ago and was running 9.3, switched to 11.0, all worked - up until now. Now the connection is out as much as is on. The only support you can get from AT&T is their dopey call centers - and Linux is NOT supported, so I had to boot into XP.
I am using wicd network manager to connect to my wireless network, it was working fine until I got a new modem/router from my isp, the original one was a livebox but this is a Thomson tg172 modem.
Can I replace an open network iconnect 624 modem with a cisco router in a small network that needs multiple PPTP VPN connection? iconnect 624 modem doesnt allow multple simultaneous PPTP VPN channels? So if i replace this modem with a cisco 881 router, will it work for ADSL 2+ internet and multiple simultaneous VPN connection? Please advice. Thank You.
