I'm still pretty new to Ubuntu, so please bear with me, and explain things like you're talking to a small child.
When I hit minimize on my last open window in Ubuntu 11.10, everything freezes. I can't open a terminal window via Ctrl Alt T, I can't hit the superkey and open Unity, I can't click any of the icons on my panel.
Hello!
I'm trying Ubuntu 12.04 beta2 64 bit. It works really good!
But I have some questions and small problems. I'm going to open different threads to discuss about them.
Well.
When I try to restore a window that I have minimized, I obtain a blank view.
I can reproduce this problem if I open more than one window (for example Firefox, Terminal and Nautilus).
using the an old monitor ...I am encountering heretofore strange behaviour
NOT the fault of the monitor
when I minimize a window, it does not show up in a stack above the icon in the lower panel
as in ALL previous KDE desktops
When I hit some unknown key or click on some unknown icon, I see all the minimized windows
lurking out of sight.
Any idea of how to get the minimized win
Geany is a fast and lightweight text editor and IDE for Linux. Geany 1.22 was released recently with many new features.
Geany comes with a few plugins installed by default, however there are many other useful plugins maintained by community.
I actually want to change the default text editor on my Ubuntu 12.04 from nano to Geany. When I used this code:
update-alternatives --config editor
..
I am not sure whether you have faced this.
Ubuntu(or maybe just Unity) lags whenever I minimize a window when there's no other opened window(others are minimized).
I faced this problem after I install Ubuntu Tweak 0.7, Conky, OpenJDK 7, IcedTea 7 (if it does matter)
There's no problem to:
show and hide windows
spread window
open and close window
I have set window minimize animation as Fade 220ms and Animation Time Step as 1 in CCSM b
Hi, I'm currently trying out window managers. I was using fluxbox. I'm checking out Openbox and it seems very powerful and nice, but I can't seem to find any documentation I can actually understand. I'd like to switch to it though for a few days and try it out. One huge thing missing with a blank configuration is a bottom dock/menu thing.
I'm new to geany IDE. I installed geany from ubuntu software centre, and the window has no options other than opening a new file. I can't file any preference, tools option too for configuring.
I heard it is a full fledged IDE. Also, from the screenshots available from the software center, it seems my Geany installation is missing almost everything.
