The problem after a recent update in my Ubuntu 13.10 with Unity.
When typing something in Qt Creator 3.0.1 or in my own program compiled with Qt 5.2.1 (from qt-project.org), I can't change keyboard layout. For example, if current layout was En when I launched the program, then only English letters will be typed in it, even if I switch to Russian language.

I'd like to set Eclipse as the default text editor on Ubuntu. However, when choosing the default program for opening .html files, I notice that Eclipse is not visible as one of the programs that can open this type of file. How can I set Eclipse as the default editor for .html files (and other file types as well?)
I'll change my system from 32 bits to 64 bits, and will be the same I had before, Debian Squeeze, but I do not want to lose the programs I installed before, because I do not remember the name of them all.
This tutorial will explain how to change the default applications in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise for a given type of file.
For general, head to System Settings -> Details -> Default Applications, there you can change default app to launch web, mail, music, video, photo, etc.
For a given file type such as .pdf, .ogg, csv files, you can edit the configuration file /etc/gnome/defaults.list with root privil
Some programs/games change my default audio device. It's very annoying and I'd like to stop it.
I currently have two audio devices connected. My HDMI cable to my monitor and an optical cable to my receiver. I set my default audio to the optical (TX1) and is usually stays there however some programs and games will set the default to the ASUS connection.
