I have a new install of 64-bit karmic (Gnome and KDE), dualbooting with XP on a desktop with the ASUS M3N78-EM Mobo.
Hello,I own a Dell Vostro 1310.Suspend systemctl suspend and hibernate systemctl hibernate works without any problems, also resuming from these.But when I suspend my system to RAM I can wake up only via power button - wake up via USB fails.In BIOS I enabled 'USB wake support (only AC mode)'.http://ompldr.org/vZ2thaQ/bios.jpgI also tried using another keyboard (the one of my brother), but
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, and my laptop* won't wake from sleep/suspend/hibernate. (Is sleep the same thing as suspend?) I'm not even sure which of these things it's doing. When I am done working for the day, I lock my screen (Control-Alt-L).
FC18 RC2, with today's updates, here is having problems waking from suspend.
This is a desktop, not a laptop. It appears to go into suspend mode correctly. When I attempt to wake it, the LED's on my monitor indicate the screen is awake, but the screen remains dark except for a flashing cursor in the top left corner. It is not responsive to the keyboard.
Recently update my system, and now pressing the suspend button (Fn+F3 in my case) doesn't suspend it to ram as it did before.Running acpi_listen and hitting the button gives me the output "button/sleep SBTN 00000080 00000000 K" so clearly it's hearing it.
Hi I am using a Dell inspiron 7520, I've got a i7 2.1ghz CPU with an AMD Radeon HD 7730m working on switchable graphic with an intel HD 4000.
I am using the computer on Linux only so there's no Window factor coming into the problem.
I am currently running on my Intel HD 4000 to work on laptop. My battery before I suspend by shutting the lid is at 4 hours or a little higher.
I upgraded two almost identical systems:
ubuntu 11.10 -> ubuntu 12.04
mythbuntu 11.10 -> mythbuntu 12.10
On both I had suspend/wake on usb working in 11.10. The prior on wireless mouse/keyboard and the latter on a usb ir/mce remote.
Now after the upgrade wake on usb does not work. I have to wake things up with the power button.
From Ubuntu 11.10, I installed Gnome 3 Shell on my desktop computer. I studied it for awhile, and then looked for the button to close the shell, but found only a suspend button. I clicked it and it shut everything down, but it left the computer still on. I didn't know the resume procedure, so I turned off the power for several seconds to reboot.
It is possible to configure Ubuntu so that pressing the power button causes an immediate suspend (see here, for example). That configuration does not work, however, if the session is locked.
