I've followed several tutorials on installing your own nameservers and I'm pretty much at my wit's end, because I cannot get them to resolve. Note, the actual domain and ip address has been changed for privacy to example.com and 192.168.0.1.
HI All,
I just finished setting up my server with Bind9 + DLZ + MySQL. I have just a simple question. Every time any particular domain is queried, the mysql database is being checked to resolve the queried domain.
Hello all,
I have a dhcp and bind9 server running in ubuntu 10.04.
Hi,
On my server I've a OpenVPN gateway and a DNS bind9 serveur
At the moment, OpenVPN send opendns address to the clients and it works fine.
I would like to use my DNS server for my clients to work with any DNS address.
Here is OpenVPN config :
Code:
server 10.154.251.0 255.255.255.0
push "dhcp-option DNS 10.154.251.1" // I've tried with my public ip address, it doesn't work neig
I am setting up bind9 on my firewall to provide DNS for the lan behind the firewall. Bind9 loads, but I can't find any boxes with it.
Here's a small problem that I've run into: I've registered myself on no-ip dot com, set up a name for myself, and installed no-ip application on my server.
http://nameofmydomain.no-ip dot org works OK. But I want to make it possible to resolve the name by www.nameofmydomail.no-ip dot org. Therefore, I install bind9 on my debian server.
So, I want to configure it.
Generally, I use 01FTP for updating and changing the website, but to be honest that is rather slow and I much prefer having all my programs to do editing available.
I'm pretty new to this! I'm trying to redirect my url to my server, so all I did was this :
http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/412
which consisted of adding a /etc/apache2/conf.d/virtual.conf
creating /etc/apache2/sites-available/www.example.com
and typing a2ensite www.example.com
on my domain manager, I just redirected the dns to my server IPs.
It didn't work.
