Hi,I'm trying to install Kazam using the PKGBUILD 'kazam-git' or 'kazam' found in the Aur repo. After solving a couple of issues with the dependencies, I manage to install it correctly.
Kazam is a simple screen recording program that will capture the content of your screen and record a video file that can be played by any video player that supports VP8/WebM video format.
Optionally you can record sound from any sound input device that is supported and visible by PulseAudio.
Install Kazam in ubuntu
Open the terminal and run the following comamnds
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:
I tried several and none could make decent sound and in sync with the video.
Kazam just worked and works with gnome3 with no configuring.
The others I could not get the sound to be loud enough or it was static filled.
I think it should be the default install.
How can that be submitted as an idea?

Hello Crunchbangers! I am using for desktop recording Kazam (usual version 1.0.6-0crunchbang2 from repositories). I like this screencasterbecause it has nice interface, it's easy to use and there is no problem recording sound (like with xvidcap). However, sometimes then I want to stop recording (or pause recording) it freezes up. So I have to shut it down.
Seems kazam was another victim of the attack on ccr 3 weeks ago......It is not hard to import a package into ccr, if no-one does this for you, maybe you want to give it a try?http://chakra-project.org/wiki/index.ph … rch_or_Aur
