Hi I am an reasonable experianced linux user. I usually manage to google most of my problems but this one has drawn a blank. I am trying to set up a little music recording thing to practise my guitar and keyboard on and record it on the computer but it does not seem to want to play ball. rakarrack or rosegarden etc it say's jackd is not working.
Dear friends, I need some very, very, very basic help. Here is my situation: I consider myself an experienced musician with something in the range of 30+ years of guitar, mostly acoustic jazz. I have also been using GNU/Linux (mostly Ubuntu and Debian) for the past 10 years. However, I have never used *any* digital device to record music and this is what I want to do now.
Hi, I installed ubuntu studio today on my laptop. I am using a fender mustang amplifier that has built in usb, so its a recording interface. I have managed to get Ardour to record from the amp, but for the life of me I cannot get Ardour to play the recorded guitar signal back. I am using 12.10 and just cant get the sound to come out of the speakers.
Help!
I'm trying to record my guitar with audacity and using rakarrack for effects.
I have an Lexicon Alpha plugged in with USB and my guitar plugged into the Lexicon Alpha.
I am able to record my guitar etc, but I cannot record my guitar through Rakarrack. JACK does not seem to recognise the Lexicon Alpha.
How can I make this working?
I'm looking for a ''guitar amp'' (like guitar rig or amplitube) program for android, but didn't found it...
so I'm trying to share this wish for a solution.
I don't believe that no one had the idea of develop this kind of app.
:thrasher: play guitar whit android phone
I can playback my guitar through the mic in once ive recorded something, but I cant hear the guitar in real-time as I could in Windows?
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hello, I'd like to ask if you know of some program for composing music. And I don't mean some guitar/keyboard plugging and recording, but clearly electronical composing using scores etc. Something like Guitar Pro (or Linux alternative Tux guitar), but with more possibilities and more realistic sound.
Thanks
Hello all.
Like many amatuer musicians I feel my sound sucks! (at least I hope its not just me [-o< ).
To be precise, its mainly my guitar sound that sucks. I have an old Yamaha Pacifica guitar running through a Marshall VS100 combo amp with an SM57 shoved in front for close mic recording.
I want to record audio on several channels (mic, guitar, bass), but I can't get a hang of it. I have a Fender Mustang II guitar amp which I'm connecting via USB and a mic that connects through the standard mic jack. So far I've tried installing FL Studio on WINE but I don't have the FenderASIO driver so the amp is not recognized by the program.
