http://nixcraft.com – How can I kill multiple PID's related to same application/owner with a single command? (OS is RHEL 5) I tried using this command: kill -9 'ps -ef|grep http|awk '{print $2}'' BUT IT IS GIVING FOLLOWING ERROR -bash: kill: ps -ef|grep http|awk {print: arguments must be process or job IDs -bash: kill: }: arguments must be process or job IDs However without "kill -9" it is running fine, its fetching all the PIDs. [root@server ~]# ps -ef|grep http|awk '{print $2}' 5873 5874 5876 5877 5878 5879 5880 5881 5882 14461 Someone please help? Why the command is not running? (HowTos)
