My question could be asked different ways;
How to install Ubuntu mini from the full iso without using the mini.iso ?
OR
What's the boot option line equivalent to the mini.iso ?
OR
How to install Ubuntu mini.iso without using an internet connection ?
So I downloaded the installer ISO and as per wiki wrote it onto an USB drive. My PC recognizes the USB perfectly and the Arch installer menu is shown. But the problem is that on my HP Mini 5102 the USB drive hangs my netbook on the HP boot logo (can't even enter the BIOS)...if the drive is out the machine works normally.
I'm having some issues installing Ubuntu Server on my mac mini 6,1. It does boot on the USB stick, install run smoothly but then after I have a 'No Operating System Found' message when i try to boot.
I've tried with & without EFI boot partition, setting it as bootable or not. I'm starting to be out of ideas to make it work.
I'd like to install it as the only system.
Thanks,

My Infinity is unlocked and rooted. I want to install NVFLASH on my Infinity before I flash JB. The instructions for NVFLASH states you have to access the fastboot menu. When I boot and hold the volume down key I get to the boot menu. Then I press volume down to choose the fastboot icon and volume up to start fastboot.
I can't get into the Grub menu in a brand new install of the F17 KDE spin.
Doing that with the LiveCD wasn't an issue. The Grub menu displayed without any intervention by me.
That does not happen after the install. The Grub menu does not display. I cannot get it to display by holding/tapping shift/tab/ESC throughout the boot process.
I have late 2006 Intel Mac Mini. Can I install F17 from full install DVD without problems? I read somewhere that will only run live, won't boot-up if installed even though installation seems to goes smoothly. Is there a simple way to install and boot-up for a novice? This is onto a erased blank hard drive. no OS.
I have been trying to boot the Fedora 17 installer on my 2011 Mac Mini (model MacMini5,1) without success. Has anyone else attempted this? I am using the network installer, I downloaded the iso and copied it to a USB drive. The boot begins but then hangs partway through the installation.
I've noticed that NetworkManager only has a single, left or right, click menu and no longer has an About menu option to show it's splash screen. In fact all the top bar mini short cut icons have been amputated and crippled leaving them with no rights.
This severely impacts on our custom aps., similar to FireFox bookmarks, which can no longer be right clicked to bring up a context menu.
