Hi all,
My laptop has a number keypad along side the alpha numeric keys. I started up my laptop this morning and the numeric keypad isn't working. I've confirmed Num Lock is on and tried a good old fashioned reboot but it's still the same. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.

Hi,
I've installed Karmic on a HP G61 notebook. It has a numeric keypad type keyboard.
The keypad part works when you switch off "Pointer can be controlled using the keypad" in System ? Preferences > Keyboard (Mouse Keys tab) + switch ON numlock.
The keyboard layout for the QWERTY part of the keyboard is not 100% correct.
Boot problem! It is stuck on Windows as the default. Arrow key will not let me select. Tried arrow keypad as well as arrow keys on the numeric keypad. Help!
I know how to turn off the annoying water drip sound on the phone keypad but I would like to have the dtmf standard keypad tones when i press the keys.
Does anybody know how to do this?
I have a new/clean install of 11.2. I then followed this with the instructions at Nomad - openSUSE and all seemed to be better (see multiple postings from me on this subject). But ...
This time, I have keyboard problems.
I dont know if anyone else is having this problem, but if I open up urxvt and THEN start an app like ranger or mplayer within that terminal, my keypad keys work just fine for instance the pgup/pgdown, so forth. But if i open one of these apps from any of my keybindings, as in urxvt -e ranger these keys will not work. How do i make these keys work all the time?
Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 on VZW. Often when I make a call that requires keypad presses (e.g. for menu selection), I touch the keypad icon, but the keypad goes blank when my finger approaches it, then reappears (after a couple of seconds) when I pull my finger away. I have to hang up and start the call again, hoping that the problem will not reoccur, which it does about half the time.
My numeric keypad is always in "Numbers off" mode even though the Num Lock light is lit up. I am using 11.3 and have a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard 4000.
Any clues as to how to fix it?
[edit]It doesn't appear to be doing anything[/edit]
I searched and I'm not understanding what I need to do, so please explain or point me to a good link. My ChaCha is s-off(xtc-clip), unlocked bootloader, CWM and flashed in Hexgores stock plus ROM. My keypad, mainly the symbols when using the alt. key, are not functioning. I know I can manually remap the keys, but I'm not understanding how.
