I'm running VirtualBox 4.2.4 on a Windows 7 x64 host. I installed a Xubuntu guest system. The VM has network access through NAT. VirtualBox is configured to act as DHCP server (setup by default) and listens on 192.168.56.100.
Hello everyone. I have this weird problem with D-BUS error messages and I wonder if anyone could help.
I am running Ubuntu 12.04.2 Desktop with VirtualBox 4.2.12 (host). On host I am running two Ubuntu 12.04.2 Server virtual machines (guests).
Hi all,
I would like to know how I can connect to a virtual machine in a local network. I've tried almost anything to solve this. Maybe I overlooked something.
I have ubuntu 12.04 installed with virtualbox 4.1.12. I have a windows 7 professional 32-bit virtualmachine with a bridged network adapter inside virtualbox. I've given a static ip to this machine with all ports open on both host and virtual machine (for now) but people outside of my network can't remote into the virtual machine, just the host.
I'm trying to setup a development server on my computer using Ubuntu 11.10 \n \l (Desktop, 64bit AMD) and VirtualBox 4.1.8r. I have installed the Guest Addtitions from the VirtualBox "Devices" > "Install Guest Additions" menu. The installation went smoothly, and I was able to connect to the internet using the default NAT network setup.
Here's the setup:
I have a Win7 laptop with the latest version of VirtualBox installed. It's a dual core proc with ram to spare. So, I installed Slack64-13.1 and it rocks! I'm really impressed that Slack is running at what appears to be native speed, but in virtual machine. Hardware response is normal, WIFI and LAN are both working great for my normal tasks.
Heya All,
I am running VirtualBox 3.2.8_OSE r64453 on Lubuntu 10.10, running an Ubuntu Server 12.04 install, and wish to allow communication from host to guest, as well as guest to network. However, while the guest can communicate with the host, that is as far as communications go. I have the guest set up with two adapters; one NAT, and one Bridged (tried Host-Only as well), but to no avail.
I am running VirtualBox 4.1.6 on Windows 7 on fairly quick machine with 12G of ram. I have a virtual machine running Ubuntu 11 on which I am doing rails development. When I run up the WebBrick server and try to browse to the site from the host OS (Windows 7), there is a long delay before the page is returned, and its the same for subsequent requests.
I have virtualbox running on a Windows 2008 server, with a guest running ubuntu 10.04. The ubuntu guest is given a static IP of 192.168.1.4, which also has openssh installed. The guest has bridged network setup, I can ping 192.168.1.4 from any machine in the LAN, the ubuntu guest can also access the LAN. However, when I try to PuTTY into the ubuntu machine, I always get "connection refused".
