I have a MacBook and i want to connect to a remote Windows machine, which is connected to a Linux Server.
When i'm at my locally there in the network, i use the http://www.microsoft.com/mac/remote-desktop-client to connect to the windows machine.
Now i want to do the same from home. The Windows machine is not connected to the internet.
Question
The magic word is ssh Tunnel.
So I finally ponied up the money, and bought a server that can actually handle virtualization. On my host machine, I have two static IP addresses, I installed Ubuntu, and followed the guide on installing the needed packages, and bridging. I am able to connect to the Virtual Machine Manager on my laptop and installed two virtual machines.
I have two Ubuntu machines - desktop and a laptop - both after clean install.
After installing open ssh on both and allowing remote controlling the machines I tried two options for remote controlling the machine (desktop from the laptop):
VNC - I tried the built in client (vinagre) and Reminna and in both connection in the house (local network) gave average performance (not amazing!) and from o
I'm currently having a problem connecting remotely to a server.
It is a brand new build Windows 2008 R2, remote users are enabled.
I'm trying to connect from a Windows 7 machine.
Everytime I remotely connect to the server it will stay connected for a matter of seconds (maybe 3-5) and then disconnect and I get the standard old cannot connect and list of reasons it could be.
I wish to connect my machine to a server in some other city.
This short tutorial will show you how to enable Remote Desktop on a Windows machine and use Ubuntu Lucid’s Terminal Server Client to connect and control it. Windows machines include a program called Remote Desktop that uses Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect and remotely control another computer.
Oracle NoSQL is a database that should be hosted on Linux, so I have a virtual Ubuntu running in Oracle VM VirtualBox. My host computer is running Windows 7.
I've got a bridged connection going, and I definitely am able to communicate between the two.
I'm just wondering if it's possible to connect two home computers (running linux) at two different locations via a remote linux server so that the two home computers can talk to each other (and ideally be able to deal with X window sessions)?
Hi all,
I have been recently tryingto put to good use the Remote Desktop function of Ubuntu between three of my machines, and bumped into problems.
All three machines, which we'll call A,B and C for simplicity, run Ubuntu 10.04, and all are configured to allow remote control without need for user confirmation.
Now, the issue is that from machine A and B I can connect with C but, although C is con
