In my simple quest to enable the playing of MP3's on my Fedora 12 installation, I arrived at the suggestion that I need to add some third party repositories for yum. Namely, rpmfusion.
After installing this repo, here is the state of my system:
Code:
[root@localhost ~]# yum repolist all
Loaded plugins: presto, priorities, refresh-packagekit
I have an Acer Aspire One netbook running Linpus Linux Lite. I'm trying to install VLC Media Player. I read somewhere that I needed a version for Fedora 7, so I went to http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-fedora.html and typed the commands they had for Fedora 7 into a terminal.
After web research, I gather that playing DVD movies on FC11-64 involves installing the current version of libdvdcss. (I don't understand if something that is "Blu-ray" has different issues, but I don't have anything in that format yet.)
I think libdvdcss can function as a "plugin" that is automatically detected by FC11's default movie player.
Long time ago you could easily install madwifi drivers for atheros wireless cards as they were found in the livna (or RPM fusion?) repositories. Today I cannot find any guide or even mentions when googling it. Am I missing something?
In Fedora 16, I added the RPM Fusion repository and ran 'yum install broadcom-wl' to install my wireless driver. I have installed Fedora 17 beta and added the RPM Fusion repository, but broadcom-wl is not in the repository and 'yum install kmod-wl' returns a dependency error because wl-kmod-common could not be found. Has anyone gotten broadcom wireless working in Fedora 17?
For the past 2 weeks when I do a yum update I get the following:

I have Fedora 12 (kernel 2.6.31.12-174.2.3.fc12.i686) installed on my machine. This was a new install, not an upgrade from 11. I am getting the following error when I try to use yum (such as yum update):

Hi everyone,
I have recently installed Fedora 11 and I am having some trouble with it. While installing another program I get the message:

I tied to look for the compiler to install using yum search g77
