This is my first post not had an android phone for long. I am confused about transferring apps to the SD Card.
Most of the apps I have downloaded give an option to transfer to the SD card. At first I thought this must be to the external SD card. But it turns out that this is to the internal SD card, but there is no internal SD card.
This morning, I connected my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 to my computer to transfer a few files. Upon copying some 600kb of HTML files to the device, the attempt hung.
Hey guys, I just got this phone yesterday and I've been trying it out. Usually, I rely heavily on bluetooth to transfer data from the phone to my computer (mostly pictures and audio files) and the other way around. So far, transferring pictures to my computer went by perfectly, I had no problems pairing the devices and all that.
So yesterday I was taking a bunch of pictures. Then my phone says the SD card is not inserted anymore. I thought that's strange. So I took it out and inserted it back in and rebooted it. Same thing. I plugged my phone into the computer... I can't find my pictures ANYWHERE ON MY EXTERNAL SD CARD!! I DIDN'T DELETE THEM! Yet all my music is still on my external SD card. Can anyone help me PLEASE???
I had to do a factory reset on my phone so I moved all my apps, pictures, music to my external SD. For the apps I went to Settings>Applications>move to SD card. After the reset I put the external SD back in the phone and the pictures and music were there but not the apps? I downloaded Rescan SD! so maybe the phone would scan the apps in the SD card and nothing.
On stock TouchWiz you can choose the location to save pictures you take with the camera, like internal storage or the SD card, but on AOSP android (Jellybean) the camera app doesn't have an option, so all my pictures are taking up valuable internal storage. Is there any way you guys can think of that I can make pictures save to the SD card?

Guys -
I have a Sony Xperia J phone..May be you are aware that since the Internal Memory of the phone is portioned, one will be recognized as phone memory and the other as SD card...
Since this SD card is not really the External SD card, all the media files of WhatsApp will be stored here and consumes internal memory a lot..
This phone actually recognizes the external memory card as &quo
So I hooked up a brand new android media player, love it.
I thought something was wrong with my 8 gig sd card, cause it only showed a 2 gb sd card.
As it turns out, the internal memory seems to be divided into an internal memory, and a built in sd card memory.
