http://www.daniweb.com – hello i'm newbie here. i'm finish to develop a registration system using vb 2008 exp edition. so, i want to connect my standalone system with LAN network. i want to access database from other computer and be use in my system. i'm use crosscable to connect with 2 computer. before this, i'm just change connection string: 'server = ip address of second computer but it's didn't work. anyone help me? connectionstring = "server=localhost; user id=root;password=123456;database=vrs;" thank you for your help (General)

I'm trying to connect to company private network via VPN using PPTP.

I assume that my connection setup works well, as I see different IP address at http://www.whatismyip.com/ once I connect to VPN. Also, my ip route table changed.

I found about a dozen questions like this, read them all, but still can't find the problem.

I'm using SSH to access a computer on my LAN- call it computer B.

I book marked computer B on my main computer (call it compute A).

Then, I unmounted computer B from computer A.

I thought that would prevent me from easily getting access to computer B again without going through the Places----->Connect to Server routine.

It didn't.

Dear all,

I'am strugling with becoming root on a system which boots over a network (PXE) and uses the Knoppix Terminal Server which is running on a different computer.

Booting the other computer via the network works perfect and Knoppix 6.2 is loaded within a few minutes.

I have a database server in local. (it means running when I type 192.168.1.1, not upload this database onto web) and I want my android device connects to this database server to get data.

My android device and database server is same on wifi network. So how can my android device can connect to this computer so can get data from database server, please teach me.

I`m having problems with my broadband connection. The computer can connect to my router and other computers in my network and all the other computers can access this computer. But I have no internet connection.

Oracle NoSQL is a database that should be hosted on Linux, so I have a virtual Ubuntu running in Oracle VM VirtualBox. My host computer is running Windows 7.

I've got a bridged connection going, and I definitely am able to communicate between the two.
