http://androidforums.com – I have an Eye-Fi card for my camera. i can set it up to offload images from my camera to my home PC over a WiFi hotspot. So I can use it with built-in tethering, but it will relay all those pics over my mobile data plan- not ideal. BUT I might be somewhere with WiFi Access. The problem is this:Hotspot Mode turns off the WiFi connection- only allowing access to the Mobile Data network The Eye-Fi card can only be configured on a PC; I can't add a random WiFi network So basically I am looking for an app that will keep the phone connected to a WiFi network and then act as a router for m (General)

I have a new S3 and any time it sees a new wifi signal it asks if I want to configure a wifi hotspot.

It doesn't ask if I want to connect to a wifi network, but rather if I want to configure a wifi hotspot.

I have network notification unchecked in the advanced wifi settings so it should not notify me of new wifi hotspots and I have tethering off.

I'm need to use my laptop (with lubuntu 12.04) as a WiFi hotspot.

I created the wifi hotspot via "Create new wireless network" from the network connections menu.

The hotspot comes up and then disconnects. I can see this on my Android phone and tablet.

Another noob question;

The N4 connects to my home network just fine.

But, how does the phone determine which network (wifi or mobile) it uses when moving data? I looked for somewhere to set the order of priority (use wifi first, then mobile) but couldn't find it.

I assume that the N4 uses wifi first, if available, then the mobile network if wifi isn't available.

In my ubuntu 11.10, i am using MTS usb modem for Internet connection and have created wifi-hotspot for accessing Internet in my android mobile.

Say my laptop is connected to a WiFi hotspot. Is it possible to simultaneously create an ad-hoc network for that same laptop, so I can connect my phone to my laptop instead of directly to the WiFi hotspot?

The wifi reciever in my laptop is much stronger than in my phone, that's why I'd like to see if this is possible.
