High power consumption on kernel 3.6.9-ARCH

https://bbs.archlinux.org – I upgraded my T420 thinkpad to kernel 3.6.9-1-ARCH and today realized that the battery life is only around 2 hours (usually I get 6 with a 6-cell battery).  Is anyone else having problems with unusually high power consumption on this kernel?My temporary solution was to downgraded the kernel to 3.6.8-1-ARCH.  I'll keep "IgnorePkg = linux linux-headers" until the next kernel is released and try it. jdahm https://bbs.archlinux.org/profile.php?id=21595 2012-12-13T05:48:15Z (HowTos)

Has anyone noticed bigger power consumption (reduced battery time)/temperatures on laptops (preferably with i915 gpu) with kernel > 3.7.3 ? Is it only my idea?

Because the kernel on lubuntu is not the kernel on ARCH. Reserved memory varies kernel to kernel, version to version. So sure, if you want to say that it's "because of how Archlinux works"... sure... why not...

Sure you can, but it'll pretty much be the same as if you downloaded the code from kernel.org.

Also, if you want to get the most out of your 4 GB, and not just the 3.21 or whatever, I highly recommend (if you have the time to reinstall) installing the X86_64 Arch.

Here is a completely random guess: there's some locking issue with kernel modesetting. I would try turning KMS off (by adding "nomodeset" to your kernel parameters).

Hello everyone, I got some problem about my X220 battery after I reinstall it.I think this picture can show the problem I got......when The battery left around 40%, after a few minutes, it well drop to 6%....Is there any setting I forgot to use? Does 3.5.3-1-ARCH from [testing] work wo/ errors?  Does 3.4.9-1-ARCH?  I didn't understand your first post.
