I read some articles about the CPU load average. They were talking about the definition, the differences between the CPU usage, and the optimal value (roughly equals to the number of cores).
I'm running a php website. I have two servers.
Please help me to check is this Mysql Database Server load too high? I found the mysql CPU usage is always higher than 100%.
I have a problem with a high traffic wordpress, super high CPU load under nginx php-fpm, I am caching with apc, and memcached, spent 2-3 days tweaking configs and looking for answers it seems to me that php-fpm takes up all the cpu available no matter how many max_children i set if i set 5 then the load is 20% each, if i set 20 then the load adds up till 90% i tried static and dynamic
server is 2
Hello,
I have a Server (2x Hexa-Core Xeon E5649 2.53GHz w/HT with 32GB RAM and 20000 GB Bandwidth) running Ubuntu Server 12.04 LTS.
We're seeing huge performance problems on a web application and we're trying to find the bottleneck. I am not a sysadmin so there is some stuff I don't quite get. Some basic investigation shows the CPU to be idle, lots of memory to be available, no swapping, no I/O, but a high average load.
The software stack on this server looks like this:
. Solaris 10
. Java 1.6
.

We have several web servers running on Amazon (ec2) c1.xlarge, over Amazon AMI.
The servers are duplicates of each other, running the exact same hardware and software.
Each server spec is:
7 GB of memory
20 EC2 Compute Units (8 virtual cores with 2.5 EC2 Compute Units each)
1690 GB of instance storage
64-bit platform
I/O Performance: High

I have a problem with new server after the domain resolve, I use VPS Centos with 1GB of ram and I use wordpress CMS.
The traffic <100/hour, but the apache have high load and make the server hang with zero free of ram and can't connect through ssh.
