I have been trying to boot the Fedora 17 installer on my 2011 Mac Mini (model MacMini5,1) without success. Has anyone else attempted this? I am using the network installer, I downloaded the iso and copied it to a USB drive. The boot begins but then hangs partway through the installation.
Hi,
I always get messages like those below in my terminals, that obfuscate my typing.
How can I get rid of them (updated opensuse 11.2)?
I already reconfigured syslog to move PackageKit messags to a separate file (because the messages appeared in /var/log/messages too, and I hoped that was the source). But this did not help.
hello - Linux newbie here:confused:. I do not find anything on this via search. having extremely long startup time. Earlier, I had had to set up a new pan0 and wan0 due to no connection because 'edit' for the existing ones were (still are) greyed out. I am now able to access internet once desktop finally comes up, but still getting this boot message and at least 20 min. startup time.

I have an old PowerPC laptop (old Mac Powerbook G4) that I am running a variant of Debian Squeeze on (MintPPC 9).
I keep getting Kernel error messages when I am connected to a particular wireless network but not at other times. I suspect, but have not proven that it is arising from the networking module. The error messages overwhelm anything I am doing at the time (e.g.

Hello when I do reboot or init 6 in console under ubuntu 12.04 my system does not start correctly. it freezes in startup process.
Wow can I enable the boot-messages instead of the splash-screen.
Is this still valid for ubuntu 12.04?
How to enable boot messages to be printed on screen during boot up?
