I installed ChrUbuntu on an Acer C7 Chromebook, and I am able to dual boot Ubuntu 12.04 and ChromeOS and to control which OS loads by default. I tried to edit the /etc/default/grub file and did run update-grub successfully but saw no effects. I was trying to enable a "dmesg" style verbose system loading screen instead of the quiet splash screen (during the Ubuntu boot).
Hi all
First time post so, sorry if I **** it up
I am trying to upgrade my A500 from HC, to ICS its on version, 3.01 and a HC boot loader ,

but I only have a linux ubuntu machine ( ubuntu 12.04) using wine the bootloader .exe will open bu
I received this phone and it would boot to just the HTC screen. It will boot to the bootloader screen and I can access it with fastboot.
The filesystem seems to be locked down and I don't know how to unlock it. ADB won't work since it won't boot the OS. It also wouldn't boot into the stock recovery.
Hi,
Initially hibernate/resume was working fine. But now system hibernate but doesn't resume, instead it boot-up normally.
I have followed all installation instructions and partitioned the drive as follows:
475 GB for Ubuntu and its files
25 GB of swap space
5 MB of reserved BIOS boot space
I attempted placing the bootloader in the BIOS boot space, in the Ubuntu partition, and on the drive itself - none worked. When I tried to boot Ubuntu, it said that the drive was not bootable and asked for a boot disk.
I tried the live boot CD and boot-repair, also loaded the Desktop install CD, and it looks like all partitions check out OK.
However, when I try to boot Linux (the only bootable partition on the computer) I get a blank screen.
Every so often the screen give me something akin to:
Assuming write through cache
Asking for cache data failed
it appears to start booting, then hangs.
Pff, I'm starting to feel like a real pain in the ass for you guys. I'm sorry for bothering you so much. I don't know whether this is a big issue, but I just put my laptop into hibernate but it won't wake up anymore; it says it has no image to boot. I tried shutting it down and booting it up again, but it still tries to wake up from the hibernate.
I have xubu 12.04 installed on my desktop, z77 chipset. I tried hibernating, it didn't work. I did sudo apt-get install hibernate. It installed fine. I typed 'hibernate' into the terminal and my computer hibernated. Now it won't boot, it just stays stuck on the splash screen with the line sliding back and forth and the login window never arrives.
Help, please?
I've been dual-booting Kubuntu and Windows 7 for a couple of weeks and I've been able to boot into Kubuntu just fine until this afternoon. Now when I choose Kubuntu's entry, instead of the regular bootloader I get the grub prompt screen saying "Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported.", etc.
