I've had my HTC Desire S for a few weeks having had a Nokia 5800 XPressMusic before.

I arrived very recently to the android world after many years using nokia phones.
The last one I used, a Nokia XpressMusic, had a fantastic task manager and although on everything else I've been feeling I upgraded my life turning to smartphones and specially to android software, on this item there was a downgrade.

Yet, the desire bravo I just got to play around with is no puppy, rather it is a bullfighter´s nightmare.
I am an advanced user, already had a fully modified nokia 5800 which I still keep for music and as a backup handset against the odds of a brick with the desire.

If you own the Nokia 5800, maybe you will need this Google Mail Application for your Nokia 5800. This GMail client application run well on Nokia 5800. With this small applications, you can access your GMail account anywhere easily.

I am new to android. I have a LG Optimus L7 with Android ICS. Just getting to learn its features.
I was a proud owner of Nokia N900. Bit disappointed by the lack of terminal in L7.

I am a happy Android user and have an HTC Desire Z. A family member has a basic Nokia texting phone (Nokia C3) and I would like to get her an Android phone so that she can have her Google e-mail and calendar on-the-go. I will buy the phone second-hand / unlocked.

Soooo.... I made the switch from BlackBerry to Android.
I've always been fond of Android since having an HTC Desire for work a couple of years ago.
But i was hanging on to see how good the new BB10 and Z10 was.
I was impressed, and I was going to grab a Z10, but then the Nexus 4 stock popped up again, and at half the price of a Z10...
Recently, many Linux and Android sites have talked about Nokia posting an attractive job listing on LinkedIn, which required Linux experience. Everybody was thinking that the company from Finland will use Android on their new smartphones.
I have been programming for 40 years in COBOL, C++, C#, PHP, javascript, html, Visual Studio, etc. and am trying to learn programming for the Android platform. I always thought I could pick up anything but Android has me reeling trying to learn it using Eclipse. Does anyone have any recommendations on IDE's or books to buy to use for developing Android for someone not familiar with Android?
