I cant use the microphone in my ubuntu 12.10.
I don't know at all what it the reason.
My sound settings input tab displays some device, but I am not sure if that is my microphone.
I use the skype test call to test if the mic is working but I never hear my voice.
Why I can't use my microphone? what is missing?
I've recently installed Ubuntu 12.10, and I've found that although the microphone is working, I have to put it really near my mouth in order to get proper sound.
Hi all, wondering if someone can help me figure this out....
My microphone isn't working regularly.People can not hear me on phone calls. It won't record, video has no sound, no Google Now voice actions, etc...
But... it works on speakerphone (I've google that and comes across many instances of that problem)
It also works if i plug a microusb cord in the port. Thats the strange one.
the internal microphone of my COMPAQ Presario CQ60 is not working.
i notice it when calling on skype i could not be understood.
i checked if skype was disabling my microphone due to its auto regulator, but that wasn't the problem.
i controlled the audio option and when i notice that the microphone does not detect any sound
in the previous version of ubuntu i did not have any issue with the microp
What is the trick to get your microphone to work in Fedora with kde? My microphone works just fine in windows, ubuntu, and Mint.
I installed 12.10 on an Acer AOD250 machine, and it works really well(far better than I thought).
But the Mic is still acting a little odd.
I open the sound settings and the microphone there picks up nothing, along with Skype, though I ran Audacity and it gave me an option to choose the Mic(HDA Intel: ALC272) and it works just fine.
I opened alsamixer and turned the Mic up from there and it still
I have a Xonar DG sound card working great in Ubuntu 12.10. It has a built in headphone amp and it sounds amazing.
However the microphone does not work.
I have poked around online and it seems many users have this issue. Even the Alsa page lists this card as 'working', but 'microphone not working'.
My Gigabyte motherboard has onboard sound and a mic input.
I was on Google chat using the hangout feature, and my microphone doesn't work. I have a Toshiba Satellite A665-S6086 and I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with a Gnome 3 shell. It's been working fine before, until I tried installing Starcraft II under wine. I fear I may have screwed up some settings there. If anyone knows what information would be most helpful to post, then I'd be grateful.
I have set my parents up with Ekiga on their Windows machine and we have successfully linked up via video (so they can see their grandchildren). I can hear my parents fine via their internal microphone but I am having problems with mine. I have read many google and forum posts about this bug.
