http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hello Experts,Statler 10 flavor.I am looking for help in the following ..1. How to disable the pidgin and leafpad which I have used keep popping up after I start #! 2. Net connectivity would not be attempted until I feed the pidgin password and then I quit the pidgin, any solution is appreciated.3. Sometimes I loose net connectivity in my place and when I reconnected, like windows #! automatically connects but there is no data ... to get a successful data transmission, I have to restart the system. disable and enable of the wireless not seem to work as well. Any help to resolve these would be (HowTos)

I recently installed Pidgin and tried to install pidgin-facebookchat. Ubuntu software center now says that pidgin is corrupt so I press repair but nothing gets fixed. I've tried sudo apt-get purge pidgin but I get this error:

Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information...

I have Pidgin 2.10.3 (libpurple 2.10.6) and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

When I want to start Pidgin the icon appears in Unity but not the window, to open the Pidgin window I have to click "quit" in laucher and start it again, only after trying 2 times I can open the Pidgin window, (Buddy List).

I uninstalled indicator-messages because I'd rather have separate icons for my programs. The problem I have now is that pidgin icon won't show up (while others do, like empathy, skype and so on). Or to be more precise, it shows up but is transparent.

If you have any idea about how to fix that, it's appreciated. I tried to relaunch pidgin once or twice but it doesn't change anything.

every time i open Pidgin, it resets my nickname to my name as shown in Windows Live Mail, i tried changing the nick from the plugin, but as soon as i restart Pidgin, it will set my name again, this happens in the standard MSN and the MSN-Pecan plugin

I'm running Ubuntu 12.10. Pidgin starts automatically on startup, but I want the buddy list window to starts minimized.

pidgin privacy please is a pidgin plugin to stop spammers from annoying you. You can block messages from certain users, block messages from people who are not on your contact list and suppress repeated authorization requests.
