How To Configure Automatic Updates On Debian Squeeze
This tutorial shows how to configure a Debian Squeeze system to have
package updates installed automatically without user interaction. In
addition to that I will show you what needs to be done to have the
system email you about available updates on a daily basis.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. I am new at Ubuntu. The system has given me a message that says "you must check updates manually" ... "You can configure this behavior in Software Sources on the Updates tab".
But I can't find Software Sources.
Introduction
One of the strong points of Linux Mint Debian is the fact that it’s a rolling distribution. Users enjoy a continuous flow of updates coming from the repositories, which keeps their system up to date without the need to upgrade to newer releases or to go through the hassle of reinstalling the operating system.
Like the title of this topic implies, how do i get my apps to automatically update? When I first got my phone, a help window said that it can be configured at a later time so I said no to automatic updates. Now I wish I had set it to automatic. Does anyone know how to do this on a LG Motion?
I fear that just like on Windows there might be ways to catch a malware/virus/rootkit via the (automatic) system updates. What are the changes?
Is it for instance possible that a "man in the middle" will sniff my network traffic and can see what I am doing (updating) and then fake a response to me that in fact is a trojan?
My /boot partition is nearly full and I get a warning every time I reboot my system. I already deleted old kernel packages (linux-headers...), actually I did that to install a newer kernel version that came with the automatic updates. After installing that new version, the partition is nearly full again. So what else can I delete? Are there some other files associated to the old kernel images?

At home I dont have wifi connection (no signal),so i connect my tablet when i go out.
2 days ago i connect my tablet, i went in "setting" click the "fimware update" button to check for update (the update to Jelly Bean should be arrived also for my tg).
I got 11 new updates.
I am planning to switch from Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 to Opensuse 11.3. I wish to know whether Opensuse 11.3 also has automatic updates which checks for new updates released and also keeps a track of newer version releases of the distro.
Hi, I'm a Suse newbie and Windows-User.
I recently installed Suse 11.1 from the Live CD on an older PC. Suddenly, when booting up yesterday, the system announced corrupted IPtables and didn't load KDE. After login, I tried commands like KDE, run KDE but the bash didn't understand the commands.
