For saved sessions , you can configure Scrollback size just once using "Lines of Scrollback" in the 'Window' menu
For a non-saved session (an ad-hoc session ) , If you want a higer scrollback size for a putty session , you have to set the "Lines of Scrollback" manually before you connect.
I am running TortoiseSVN 1.7.11, Build 23600 - 64 Bit and putty 0.62 on Windows 7. I have putty set up correctly with private key authentication, and I have pageant running.
Connecting to byobu in Ubuntu 12.04.1 (precise) from PuTTY on a Windows 7 system, when I type Shift+F2 to get a vertical split, nothing happens. Typing plain F2 works and opens a new window.
I tried all the terminal keyboard types in PuTTY configuration (ex. XTerm R2, Linux) without any luck. Any ideas? Is there nay another keyboard shortcut to do the same thing?
At the place where I work we're developing under AIX with KSH and connecting to it via telnet. Most people use ArcTel to connect, while I prefer PuTTY. The only problem I have with PuTTY is that the Del key isn't working - it prints [3~ instead.

I'm setting up a home lab and I am having problems keeping my connection open on putty. every time i leave it for about 10 seconds and come back I keep having to re-connect. I'm more of a AIX person and trying to get more fimilar with Sun but some of the commands I am trying to run to diag the problem don't seem to be working. I prefer using putty instead of the vmware.

I am using putty.exe file to login to servers . I heard that there is way to save my username and password in putty so that i no need to give my creds while logging into putty . If so please provide me th way to do so .
Please note : I am not talking about keyfile .

I have installed fedora 17 on the old desktop computer and put it to DMZ of my NAT network - i.e. whole computer is accessible via public ip address to the internet and could be called "server".
I've allowed SSH connections on firewall - everything works perfect, but there is one huge problem.
Both me and my friend abroad have Windows 7, so we are using putty + xming to forward windows.
I need a reverse shell from Windows to my virtual machine and I don't know any? I've tried poderosa and putty to no avail. Poderosa doesn't allow me to enter the required parameters and putty doesn't work. With putty I can give the parameters -R 9000:localhost:9000 but when I confirm my password in the login screen putty close the window? I've tried cygwin, too.
