Hello everyone,
I am currently running Android version 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). My phone received a couple of notices to update the phone, but I kept ignoring it because I've been happy with Gingerbread.
However, I'm now unable to tether for free using PDANET 3.50. I believe this is the most current version, and both my phone and laptop have it installed.
Hello everyone, Im kinda new to all this
So i just decided to root my phone for the free wifi tethering to my laptop...I havent installed any custom rom just stock rooted with S-On(dont know if that matters).Ive used the Wifi tether app from the google market it connects but it takes me to the t mobile website asking me to add wifi tethering to my plan.
I do not have a tethering plan and I know about creating a new APN with the epc, but when I go into my Mobile Hotspot to do the tethering to my iPad, it says Error under the words Mobile Hotspot after I turn it on (I can still connect to the Internet on my phone with this error message)
My iPad can see my phones tethering connection under the WiFi connection choices and my phone shows me as bei
I have a HTC EVO 4G flashed to boost mobile, and I am trying (with no luck) to tether. Tried using Easy tether and Pda Net. My phone is set up for USB debugging and the connection type is set for USB tethering. I am able to connect to my phone from my PC using HTC Sync and with the disk drive connection. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
After searching the Web all weekend and not finding answers, I found a solution, that's working for me right now, to connect your P7510 to your wifi tether off your phone. The app I'm using is wifi tether v3.1-beta11, I just set device profile to auto, setup method to auto and boom my galaxy tab recognized and connected to my phone.

I thought I'd be able to tether my phone with legal apps such as foxfi. I can't seem to use it, and a number of sources have told me that i still need to enable the wifi tethering service with verizon in order to get those apps to work. but that conflicts with the above link!
I have Wifi Tether for Root on my phone and my laptop sees (and is currently using) the phone's connection. However, my Nexus 7 does not. I've tried other tether apps as well, same problem.
What could possibly be the issue? The lack of 3G is a real sore point for me with this device...
Does anyone know if the Marquee supports USB On The Go?
I ask because I do root phones as a side gig and it would be worlds easier and also neat to be able to root a phone through my phone using this program...
