HELP! My Slackware won't load, please read.

http://www.linuxquestions.org – Slackware 13 didn't install correctly, and I accidentally installed it on my main hard drive on my Toshiba laptop, now it has the MBR all jacked up. I can't boot from CD. If my external usb HD is formatted in a linux format, I have the possibility to boot from that device, but as soon as I load another linux distro, such as ubuntu or pardus, it won't load, and actually disappears from my boot menu. Slackware is dead it runs into a Kernel problem and locks up and then i'm forced to reboot. Please help! (HowTos)

I just installed Slackware 12.2 and everything ran smoothly. Except, when i boot into it, login and try and start x, it doesn't work.

Code: Fatal server error: no screens found

Waiting for X srver to begin accepting connections giving up

I got to the part where I'm supposed to partition Mint. I've got a 500GB hard drive, and I thought I'd give 300GB to LM--but I'm unclear about using ext2, 3 or 4. What about the swap file? Is that automatic?

Can not load Ubuntu from CD 3 years 14 weeks ago

Had XP- formated hard drive - See's Ubuntu, yet will not install Ubuntu, check disc for defect, test memory and can not Boot from 1st hard drive.

Bios is set to load from CD.

I had Slackware 12 on my computer for awhile with no problems. Then I tried Ubuntu and did not stick with it very long so I went back to Slack 13. Now my sound works but only one program at a time can use it. How do i fix this? I will be listening to a song and have firefox open on youtube and it wont play the youtube sound.

I have just installed Slackware 13 on my Dell but the BT LED is not lighted when I start machine.

I run: # hciconfig -a But no result returns

I search many times about this problem but seem not find any solution. Hope for help.

I am running Win XP and tried to boot a Linux based program ( OPHCrack ) and I received the following message at the end of black screen :

IO-APIC + Timer doesn't work. Boot with Apic=Debug and send a report. Then try booting wit NOAPIC option.

This is japanese to me. How can I fix this ? Is it fixable ?
