I'm having a problem with the stock messaging app.
It does not show the message notifications many a times. New messages can be seen in the app though.
Go sms notifications still working.
I've checked all the settings but they seem all right.

Hello. I've had this problem for a while now. Apps like ESPN sportcenter and Whatts app will show notifications, but apps like instagram, bleacher report or ebay won't. I've checked the settings in each app millions of times and they're set to show notifications. I'm running the stock rom, phone's rooted and using nova launcher. Any ideas?
I've installed web apps today,I'm running ubuntu 12.04 LTS.I've added facebook from chromium and now it shows in dash home and messaging menu.The problem is the unread count for messages and notifications is always 0 even tho I do get some and the messaging icon doesn't turn blue.I've also integrated twitter and it doesn't show in the messaging menu at all...What could be wrong ?
About a fortnight ago I noticed a little symbol in the top corner of the phone a circle with an i in the middle and crossed through, like a no entry sign and since then I cannot get my messages or email notifications to make a sound, all my tones are on but i only know i have a message if the LED is flashing, anyone know what to do to resolve this?

help. i have this problem for a couple of day.
when I trun on my phone its run normally. including the messaging.
My S3 messaging app notification doesn't seem to work. Every time people send me a sms I am not aware of unless i go into the messaging app. There is no sound and notifications and vibration. I checked this forum and none of the answers help.
My S3 is updated to jelly beans recently and thus, I don't have this notification box when I slide the top bar down.
Hey guys I just want to have people's opinions about the above apps. I have S3 and have been using my stock messaging app with SMSpop up to handle the notifications when I receive texts. Lately I've been reading about these two messaging apps and I have been interested in trying them especially because I want emoji support (I hate my iPhone friends lool).
I seem to have lost notifications! I thought it was weird that I haven't gotten any for awhile. I checked my email and when I opened it I had 14 new messages. I checked the play store and there were updates available. Same with Facebook. Text messages are all that will work.
I've been screwing around with settings (first night with the new rom) and now have no idea what I may have done!
So I am hoping someone else has this issue so I know I am not going crazy:
My phone, a few times of day, the messaging app, stock/hand cent/SMS pop up/go SMS/ chomp, I have tried all of them and they all do the same thing. I will be in the middle of a text conversation with someone and all of the sudden all my texts will disappear and all of my conversations will disappear.
