I read many howto-s and other links but I couldn't setup a proper connection . my computer connects to the Internet directly through the device named eth0 ( DSL PPPoE ) I'm using Kinternet to connect and disconnect my Internet connection . My sister has Windows Vista, and I want to setup a wireless connection ( in vista and 7 I could easily setup an ad-hoc connection ) so I can share the Internet with her computer . I'm using openSUSE 11.2 . I'm not sure but I think the driver for wlan card is properly installed . The card is a D-Link DWA-520 and madwifi drivers were installed with openSUSE (Distributions)

Hello, I am living in China currently and i have to use a pppoe connection to connect to the internet. My problem occurs when i normally connect to the internet using the:

sudo pon dsl-provider

This connects me for around 25 seconds to the internet and than just hangs up and stops the connection. Does anyone know why this occurs?

Need some information on how to setup the router.

I don't know if it is a standard way, but below is how my ISP provides Internet access.

I am among those unfortunate wretches with an Atheros wireless card (ar5001) and I've had problems with it from the day I installed Ubuntu. I've been using Madwifi to connect to the internet, and it's worked fine, until I lately changed my internet connection, got a new modem etc.

I have Prolink H9601 Usb adsl modem and I've already installed the eciadsl driver to setup my modem with opensuse 11.2. The modem is in sync as the eciadsl driver indicates. But I'm having trouble dialling the connection. I'm not sure the ISP (Sri Lanka Telecom) supports PPPOE or PPPOA but in windows I see two numbers VCI/VPI so I'm guessing it is PPPOA.

Hello all, my name is John and I am currently living in china but I'm from Virginia, I have just installed Ubuntu on my HP laptop and I am having a problem with the internet connection. At work there is a wireless connection that the computer will connect to with no problem but at home i have a Modem/Wireless route unit I'm guessing that's called a mini PPPOE?
