I downloaded the wine-1.4-rc5.tar.bz2. I ran the tools/wineinstall in terminal. After some time I get this error.

Wine will be built without X support, which probably isn't what you

Hello all, I'm using Ubuntu x64 12.10, and I'm currently unable to install Borderlands using playonlinux or wine.
When I try to install using the POL present, it gets to the very last step where the VC C++ 2008 installer tries to run, and it puts out this error:

If I try using wine, I run this command:

sudo make
sudo make install
This seemed to install APR ok, but when I run ./configure from the apr-util directory, I receive the error:
configure: error: APR could not be located.
I'm new to ubuntu, formally windows 8 disgusted and have switched my other computer over to ubuntu only. The only thing I want to run on wine is to download DB Weave (and possibly for netflix later). I'm very confused with the wine install choices.
