Help with gcc ( Wine install)

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hey hey folkses, I've been trying to install wine, and having discovered many things I need (( yes google is my FRIEND lol )). I've finally got the configure to almost work. There is something programing the configure program with parameters..... I get this error cause one of them is wrong.... configure:3244: gcc -V >&5 gcc: error: unrecognized command line option '-V' the gcc options (( in gcc -- help)) state a -v not a -V gives a version and there is NO -V option. so My query is such: Which file can I ammend in gedit to correct this parameter misnomer? it is in the wine- (HowTos)

Hello all, I'm using Ubuntu x64 12.10, and I'm currently unable to install Borderlands using playonlinux or wine.

When I try to install using the POL present, it gets to the very last step where the VC C++ 2008 installer tries to run, and it puts out this error:

Internal errors - Invalid parameters received

If I try using wine, I run this command:

I have patched it and made sure all the 32-bit dependencies suggested by openSuse were installed and it won't compile ...

there must be someone who plays cutting age games who has come across this and solved it,

I downloaded the source and put APR & APR-util in the srclib folder, then changed directories to ./srclib/apr and ran:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apr sudo make sudo make install

This seemed to install APR ok, but when I run ./configure from the apr-util directory, I receive the error:

configure: error: APR could not be located.

I'm new to ubuntu, formally windows 8 disgusted and have switched my other computer over to ubuntu only. The only thing I want to run on wine is to download DB Weave (and possibly for netflix later). I'm very confused with the wine install choices.
