http://crunchbang.org – This may have been discussed previously, but is there any chance of implementing a non-Paypal donation system?  I have technical and philosophical issues with Paypal.  They caused me incredible headaches in the past.I'm intending to add back-donations whenever I do donate, but it won't be via Paypal. Google Checkout, Amazon payments are either of these feasible? (HowTos)

Hi, I notice on the Donation page that LQ makes use of PayPal to handle donations made to LQ. Personally, I have never liked nor used PayPal. Recent events have made PayPal even less attractive. I am wondering if it might not be time to consider some less malevolent alternatives. I feel uncomfortable donating my time to a site the uses PayPal.

On eBay’s earnings call this past week, CEO John Donahoe revealed that the company’s Square competitor, PayPal Here, had landed its first U.S. retail deal. PayPal Here is now being sold at 1,800 AT&T stores across the US.

After debuting its in-store mobile payments technology PayPal Here in the U.K. two weeks ago, the payments giant is announcing another set of news around the product: an iPad app.

I’m using the mobile express checkout library for android and get always the following message when testing the checkout in sandbox mode:

"This transaction has expired.

PayPal will stop allowing personal payments in Singapore on February 20.

PayPal is announcing  today that seven new national retailers are using its in-store payments technology. Previously, PayPal had made a commitment to sign-up a total of 20 large national retailers by the end of 2012, and the company now has 23 retailers signed up to implement the eBay-owned company’s technology.

i have search & try a lot of stuff on the web. But...

For testing on my pre-live site, I'd like to allow only my own IPs and PayPal Sandbox.

For production, I'd like to allow only PayPal to my IPN listener.

I can restrict in .htaccess to my IPs, but including paypal.com causes 403 in the IPN generator on the SandBox.

I understand this may be a security issue for PayPal, but I'd like it anyway if possible.

PayPal spokesperson Anuj Nayar put up an interesting blog post today about how the company wants to be branded with regard to payments in the future. Basically, the company doesn’t want to be pigeonholed into being just a mobile payments company. From Nayar’s post.
