Hi guys, this is my first tut here, about an alternative way for rooting my S6500D...
Q : Why do I need this? There is a better and easy way already using CWM....
A : This tut will only give you root access, without a busybox, CWM, etc.
hey guys,
so rxpert has brought this to my attention and i'm curious as to if this really works or not. anybody want to verify this works on the og evo?
here is the thread:
[APP] Updated: 07/09/12 - HTC Quick Root v1.1.13 - ROOT ANY HTC! - xda-developers
it is supposed to work on all htc devices. however, it might not work on those with the 5.07 ota as it might have patched the exploit.
On exploit-db.com, a local priv esc exploit was released today jan 23rd, 2012. It affects kernel 2.6.39 > according to advisories on secunia and securityfocus. The author has also demonstrated this to work on kernel version 3.2.0.
I Tried this on BT5R1 as a regular non-privileged user and the exploit got me root.
Hey guys I have a new atrix hd with bell just did the maxxx battery hack love to so amazing, next I am looking to root to use some root only apps I know there's not any roms ect yet I am currently running the original ics I guess and it's asking me to upgrade to the new jellybean, do I upgrade to it is there a root available or get it rooted like it is now and just don't do the update?
I've seen
Sony Google TV devices are reportedly about to get an OTA update on Monday that patches a recently found security exploit that allows you to root your box.
Despite my strong belief that people who are interested in rooting should buy devices with unlocked bootloaders instead of expecting the magical hackers in the sky to give out free exploits (which are in short supply), I'm once again continuing to encourage bad behavior by publishing another root exploit:

So I've had my Droid 4 for a little while (late July). As soon as I got it I rooted it with MotoFail to freeze all of the apps that I could to save battery life.
I recently (Last week) got the OTA 4.0.4 update which of course erased my Gingerbread root. So I used Rick#2's ICS404Root.zip exploit to re-root my phone. Or so I thought.
Motochopper is a root exploit for Jellybean Motorola devices that works without bootloader unlocking, and has also been confirmed to work on the Galaxy S4 running 4.2.2. Has anyone tried this exploit on a Nexus 4?
Has anyone tried this?

a small script which is able to root ICS/JB phones. It uses a remount timing issue in Androids "adb restore" service.
