My note has as Acer video card ATI Radeon X1200, so just use the Unity 2D - is there any way to activate it, or any drive for 4.12?
I just installed two new pieces of hardware.
1 a 64 mb video card "NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440 AGP 8x 64MB DVI"
2 a sound blaster card "ill have to get exact model"
both are replacing on board versions.
One thing i noticed was no seeming "install" time on startup so im wondering if these are running at peak performance?
Just got a new (well secondhand) pc and installed 12.04 on it, moved my video card over as well, but despite installing (and uninstalling, then re-installing) my video card, the system does not recognise it, it just says "unknown" and "standard" instead of "Nvidia EN8400GS" and "enhanced" as it did in my previous install.
My screen goes blank whenever I plug/unplug my laptop ( Toshiba A215 ) laptop having the ATI X1200 graphics card.
I started experiencing this after installing the proprietary driver.
Any time I logout, it also messes up my display manager-the screen is full of so many colors.
Please I need help with this. Anyone out there please assist. Thanks alot
Hi,
I imagine this is a pretty dull question on these fora, but my situation is a little different. I've been using ubuntu for ages now, but I am a bit buggered by the lack of support for some of my hardware. Specifically the ATI Radeon® X1200 video card. ATI no longer supports the card, and the drivers are no longer compatible with Ubuntu (9.04 onwards).
Hello all,
I have a Toshiba Satellite P750-PSAY3A-02K001 laptop. Some programs are crashing due to no driver installed for the video card. I am running 12.04 now. When running 11.10 there was a proprietary driver to install in the additional drivers setting. Can this be made available for 12.04 please?
Toshiba won't provide drivers on there website or even what video card is installed!
Hello folks,
I'm new to Linux/Ubuntu [9.10], but am usually pretty good at figuring things out for myself. That said, I'm having a heck of a time getting my video card fully supported.
I want to install the open source one from ubuntu. but I don't know how! I was reading a guide but it didnt make ANY bit of since..
what is the easiest, quickest way to install this open-source driver? I need it to watch youtube and play flash games (oh and compiz fusion!).
Thanks.
In the brand new Ubuntu 11.10 the drivers of ATI Radeon X1200 Series(RS690M) seems to be broken. Even when moving single window, it's barely moving. The drivers in 11.04 were working very well till the upgrade. When we can expect the thins working back again?
