I just rooted my Galaxy Nexus and installed Rom manager and Titanium Backup. This isn't my first time rooting and i think i some what of a grip on the process.
I did a full backup in Rom manager and set up a system data backup on certain apps on a schedule through Titanium. I synced Titanium to Drop box and every time a backup is made, it is automatically sent to my Drop box account.
This is my first time rooting so as you can see I am new to all this last night I desided to root my evo 4g and see what its really capable of doing so I followed all the steps from htcdev.com and was successfull on unlocking my phone the next step is where I'm stuck I tried loading a few apps from google play that are suppost to be for rooted phones and it tells me that my phone is not rooted, a

Firstly I have an s3 running JB with Rogers here in Ontario. Ive been thinking about rooting my phone mainly because I want a better battery life and connect a ps3 controller with my phone for the GTA app.
I honestly know nothing about rooting or what this process even means completely but I have some questions:
1) Will rooting change the layout of my phone right away?
