Greetings Crunchbangers,First of all my name is Seth, and I am a new user to these forums. I am a 24yr old down to earth aussie guy, living in Sydney, who has had a little experience with linux but not enough for my current tastes!
I hope this is the right forum for this.
I'm trying to install PHP5, by compiling it myself.
I'm doing this on Crunchbang Linux, version 11. Specifically, the version using the 3.2 kernel. Crunchbang 11 is based on Debian. This is a 64-bit Virtual machine, running on a 64-bit Win7 Professional.
I'm from Slovakia and fairly new to linux, Ive tried Ubuntu several times, and after a dramatic crash of my windows 7 system (and the immediate deletion of all my files), Ive decided to transfer to Crunchbang (I have a Asus 1005PE netbook). I am looking forward to the Crunchbang linux experience, and hope to see friendly and helpful reactions from the forum!
Hello everyone, I was recommended CrunchBang by the User's over at Gentoo Forums and am downloading the Testing to a thumbdrive as i type this. This is my first time using a linux based OS and I am moving to it from Windows XP Professional after a lot of searching. Im Running an AMD Athlon 64 X@ Dualcore Processor 3800+ 2.01GHz with 1.87 Gigs of RAM and a 150 GB HDD.
Just noticed that I "cb-*" scripts got lost somehow in my crunchbang. I ran cb-welcome once and that's it. I've rewrote the default openbox rc.xml and lost an option to shutdown the pc. It was "cb-shutdown" as I remember from obmenu. Where did these scripts all go? I could not have deleted them, since I didn't know about their location in the first place.
Holla :DI just found out about crunchbang. I like that its Debian based.I'm been using Debian for the past 2 years, really liked it, I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a new laptop as Debian Lenny was getting a bit old, and I wanted to try out Ubuntu.
