http://androidforums.com – Hello Android people. I recently converted to android at the end of 2011. I had been a Windows Mobile user for a couple of years and a Palm treo user before that. Was using a Palm Treo before the first iphone ever came out. All I can say is WOW! I love my new phone. It took some getting use to the onscreen keyboard but i am getting there. First Android for me is a Samsung Galaxy SII. I am really a baby when it comes to knowing android os but amd getting by. At some point I would like to root my phone so that I can use the hotspot feature. I really, reeeally like my phone. Chappy : (General)

I have a palm treo 755 which I been trying to sync with my desktop. Ubuntu 10.04. gnome-pilot

I pretty much tried everything but hitting a dead end. As soon as I plug the USB cable in to the computer and connect the palm the palm start restarting.

I have my own domain name and webhosting, and I use IMAP email with that.

I think Android doesn't allow you to do that kind of email. It only allows four types of email accounts: gmail, hotmail, Yahoo!, and AOL. Is that true?

I couldn't use my own email last time I had Android, which was when I had a Verizon Motorola Droid II in 2011. I had to use gmail...ugh.

Number prefix when dialing 1 year 12 weeks ago

I am new to Android and imported all my contacts into my new phone from my old Treo. On the Treo, I just had to have the 10 digit number, without the 1- prefix. That is, if the contact liste 780-555-1212, you could set the Treo to automatically dial it as 1-780-555-1212. I cannot find such a setting on the Android.

I'm pretty much at the end of my rope with android. This is my last appeal for hope before ditching this OS altogether and going back to a really slow crappy Palm Treo (but that keeps my PIM data well organized!).

I'm a new user to the android world and absolutely love it. However, I have this machine that I know is capable of a lot...but I'm not all that techie...Was wondering if anyone can help me out with this. I would like to fully experience this phone and play around with it. The phone I have is the Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Hello everyone. I am currently an iphone user and have been since they first came out. I will say that I am pretty disappointed with the new iphone5:( and I am considering switching to the Samsung Galaxy 3s.:confused: I would really love any advice I can get. I don't know anything about the android system. How do you update your phone? (ie: itunes sync with Apple).

Like I mentioned I am newbie. I will need little bit help and advice from experinced android users. Also this is first forum I ever signed up. So please be patient with me I heard I should root my phone.

Should I stick with Iphone and get the 4s or get an android. If I stick with Iphone I am going to get the iphone 4s since my Iphone 4 contract ended. Android is good looking and everything but it doesn't have that iphone stuff that I am more used to and I would have to rebuy all my apps and some apps that I use aren't in the android market place.
