In a successful test for the escape system of the Orion space capsule, NASA shows that it works perfectly for the now defunct Constellation program. However, Orion may never get off the ground in that capacity.
I have this Ubuntu Server (12.04.2) which sometimes (once a day for 5 minutes) it's unreachable through zabbix and SolarWinds Orion. I logged into to Orion server and Zabbix server and did a ping test (ping -n 500 192.168.1.1) and it had 0% loss. But Orion and Zabbix often report that it is unreachable and packet loss of Orion goes above 60% (Zabbix-agent is unreachable for 5 minutes).
The U.S. space agency NASA announced Tuesday, May 24, 2011, that its next-generation space capsule, which will take astronauts beyond low-Earth orbit, will be based on the Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle.
NASA announced construction on the first manned Orion multi-purpose crew vehicle is progressing. The new capsule will introduce Americans to a new generation of space capsules – with the ability to take astronauts out of Earth orbit and into deep space.
NASA is preparing to get back into the business of space exploration with the first live test of Lockheed Martin’s Orion capsule. The capsule will most likely be the craft that will eventually take astronauts into deep space and other planets, namely Mars, and return safely to Earth.
