Recently I installed ubuntu12.10. It's having sound but when I attach my headphone to laptop, no sound comes from headphone. My headphone is fine as it's working fine on windows OS.
For a while I have been using a Nokia BH-604 bluetooth headphone ans everything was working fine when after I pressed a button on the headphone I lost all sound. In my attempt to fix this is tried different settings and during this I set the Mode of the device (in Settings -> Sound) to Off.

I have recently installed MIUI on my SONY XPERIA P. Recently I found that headphone(original and others) is not working properly. But when I tap the button (that is in the original headphone) , music is pausing or playing. That means headphone is connected. But no sound is appearing in ear piece!! How can I solve it?
I was using windows and my headphone and speaker was working fine there. Recently I moved to linux mint and having problem to get sound on headphone. Speaker still working fine. I have tried several online solution nothing work for me. When I connect on front panel I can hear sound on my header but my microphone is not working that time. I can't use skype.
I am using ubuntu 13.10 64bit. I got one sided (one channel) sound only in headphone. Laptop speaker is quite good. Headphone jack of laptop and headphone are both working well. It's software issue. I regularly upgrade system and this problem is happening after last 1 or 2 upgrade.
Also there is a workaround. Set the volume level to low and set it high quickly.

This is an HP mini, used as a sort of media center with Spotify and Kradio connected to the Stereo.
It has worked fine until the upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10 when there was no more sound coming out of the headphone jacket.
After checking lots of things and without success, one morning it suddenly worked again, great.
Yesterday I upgraded to 14.04, no hassle.
But again no sound on headphone out...
