HDMI 1.4 includes 'ethernet over HDMI' and I've seen HDMI ports on some switches at work but I've not been able to find much info on this such as how well its supported under Linux or how I might take advantage of the 10Gps data transfer rate HDMI 1.4 offers.

i recently use an app on the market called lg esteem optimizer and after deleting the bloatware my hdmi stopped functioning, i also deleted the files that it saved (backups) does anyone know where to download the bloatware to get my hdmi back and running? would really appreciate some help i've tried almost about everything
I am having some problems getting sound to work over the HDMI interface on my laptop. I have tried going to System/Preferences/Sound to try and change the settings to HDMI but there are no HDMI options to choose from. How do I find out if HDMI sound is supported by the nvidia drivers I am using? I had a look at this thread;
Hey guys I bought the atrix 4g lap dock a few months ago and I tried the lap dock as a monitor trick with the micro HDMI to HDMI and the HDMI port got bent! I tried pushing it in with no luck. Now the HDMI port is sticking out and it doesn't work. I've tried motorola but they said it would cost 150 to fix. I got it for free.
