I am developing a cross-platform application using Qt. The main platform is Windows, so the main window of the program has a menu and a toolbar. In Qt 5.1 there was a menu button in the lower right corner of the screen. In 5.2, there is a large title bar (action bar?) at the top of the screen with the menu button on the right, program title on the left and nothing else.
After modifying a desktop file in /usr/share/applications, I need to refresh the launcher icon application menu so that my modification shows up.
For the sake of clarity, the menu that should get modified is the one that appears with a right click when the pointer is on an icon of the launcher (the big bar full of icon on the left side of the screen).
Well I read about the definition of cross platform operating systems and I found out that most Linux and Unix based systems are cross platform i.e they can be installed and run on different computer architectures, but the Windows operating system they say is not cross platform as it can be run on mostly x86 architectures.
