My nexus s is giving me trouble. While phone is on, keeps waking and sleeping on its own randomly like the power button is being pressed.
If i try to press the power button myself to put it to sleep sometimes it brings up the power off menu instead (as if I've held it), and the rest of the time it does nothing.
I'm having some wake lock issues on my gs3. I found some research on the kernel wake lock: power manager service which apparently is a combo of user controls things like playing music or talking on the phone.the troubling thing is I haven't used my phone for texting and talking more than an hour today and yet it shows a wake lock of over 3 hours.
I just took my Galaxy S3 out of my pocket and hit the power button to "wake it up". Nothing. The blue led is flashing in the top left corner. But it does not wake up. Tried holding power button down for 10 seconds. Nothing. Tried the hard reset (Power, Volume UP, Home Buttons). Nothing. Plugged it into the wall and let it charge for a while. Still nothing.
So, I use Smart Screen On to wake my phone. In short, you wave your hand over the sensor to wake the screen. After the update, the screen will wake via proximity a few seconds after locking. But anything after that, nothing happens. Hitting the lock button does the trick, but I've never had an issue with any phone up until now.

I've just rooted my phone (my first root) and installed Nameless ROM v7.2 Build 5 with the 806Mhz image. Right after that everything seemed to be fine.
When ever I wake my phone with home button, then unlock, the next time I press the home button will fail. The second time and every other time after the faillure will work.
Ok so I've been using a few different versions of the CM10 ROM and I've noticed a new problem. On occasion, when I go to wake the device, it will not wake. The keys light up, but thats it, the screen doesn't come on. The only way to get it working again is to hold down the power button and wait till it restarts.
Hi, i have an international Galaxy S3 (i-9300). I recently updated to Jelly Bean via Samsung Kies (baseband version I9300DXDLI5) and there's a change that has been bugging me. In stock ICS, when the screen turned off due to inactivity, pressing either the power button or the home button would turn on the screen and lets me pick up where i left off.
Hi, i want to know if i'm the only one with this problem, sometimes, at least once a day, my phone does not wake up from "deep sleep" when i receive an sms.
When i randomly check my phone for no apparent reason, they all pop at once. Its only when i press the power button that the device really seems to wake up.
Ive used so many roms, even back in the days of 2.3 roms.
